Monica Jansen is Assistant Professor of Italian Literature. Her research revolves around cultural representations of socially relevant topics such as religion, precarity, youth and migration, from an interdisciplinary, transmedial, and transnational perspective. In particular, she is interested in cultural memories of protest in Italy, with a particular interest in art and activism. She has published on a wide variety of topics including postmemory narratives of victimhood, transnational memories in postcolonial and migrant contexts, and the remediation of cultural memories in TV series.
