Reindert Dhondt
Reindert Dhondt is Assistant Professor of Latin American Literature and Culture. He currently researches plurimedial memory constellations of displacement and kidnapping in Colombia, with particular attention to transnational memories and the relation between remediation of memory narratives and their affective resonance. On this topic he has recently published “Cómo coleccionar el pasado: Posmemoria y coleccionismo de Migas de pan de Azriel Bibliowicz” (Confluencia, 2020). Together with Silvana Mandolessi and Martín Zicarí he has edited a special issue on agency and violence in Latin American culture of the Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies (2021) as well as a book on affect and violence (Iberoamericana-Vervuert, 2022), which also pays attention to processes of memorialization. He also works on the Spanish-American historical novel and on decoloniality. During the academic year 2021-2022 he will be working at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main as a research fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
